What's New?

The GCF Global Learning site, which can be found at www.gcflearnfree.org, provides free courses to its members. The free courses facilitated by the mentors of the CN2 grant in El Paso used the curriculum created by the GCF site. EPAL became a GCF partner and is ranked #1 in referring the most students to the site. To see EPAL at the top of the partners list, click here.

EPAL is the number 1 partner for the GCF learnfree website.

EPAL also made the headlines in the second quarter 2003 issue of the GCF Partners Newsletter. Click here to see the PDF file.

What EPAL Community Network is all about

The Frontier of the Americas Community Networking Grant 2 (CN2) was awarded to the El Paso Area Libraries Consortium (EPAL) by the Telecommunications Infrastructure Fund Board (TIF). Through this grant, computer labs have been added, and existing labs have been expanded in community locations such as the El Paso public libraries and certain El Paso housing authority locations. This grant has also made it possible to provide free, city-wide computer courses to the community. With a little time and patience, more and more computer labs with Internet access will be available to the public around different parts of the city.
